Have you ever felt like you were alone or like God had forgotten about you? I’m sure at one point in time every single one of us has felt this way. I recently had an experience that led me to share this post and encourage you that God sees you!
I was driving home recently after picking up my son from his grandmother’s house and on the way home I kept debating whether or not I wanted to stop by the store because I needed to get some garlic. It honestly seemed like it would be more trouble for me to get it than to not, especially since I had a toddler with me (y’all know how that is!). I figured I would text my mom and ask her to pick up some since she works at a grocery store. By the time we were passing the store, I could see that my mom hadn’t read the message, so I decided to go ahead and run in the store and get it.
The store I went to has a McDonalds inside, so as soon as my son saw those golden arches there was no way we were leaving without his favorite meal from there…hamburger and french fries. I promised that I would get him something from there when I was done getting what I needed. So, after I checked out, I headed over to McDonalds to fulfill my promise.
Now before I even went into the store, I was looking for the $10 I thought I had, but I couldn’t find it (I forgot I had already spent it lol). The only thing I found was a folded up dollar. Any who, at McDonalds there was a lady ahead of us who was ordering from the dollar menu, nothing fancy. The cashier tells her the total and the lady hands her some change and asks her to put the difference on the card, which was less than a $1. Her card ended up being declined and she was short $0.60. She was about to leave, but before she could I remembered the dollar I had found earlier and immediately pulled it out and handed it to the cashier.
“For me?” she said. After I confirmed it was for her, she thanked me and tried to give me the change she had. I told her to keep it and she walked away to wait for her meal to be ready. What a beautiful moment to be able to help someone in need! It truly blessed me to be a blessing to someone else. Even though it was *only* a dollar, it was a dollar that someone needed in order to eat that day.
I believe God placed me there to meet a specific need at that specific time for that specific person. God works through us to show His love to others and I was so overjoyed that He chose to use me in that way. There was a lady behind me who saw what I did and she commended me for it. So not only did the woman in need see a demonstration of God’s love, but so did the lady behind me and the cashier as well. The Bible tells us in Matthew 5:16 to “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” And truly I believe God was glorified in this moment.
This experience was not a coincidence, but a demonstration of the love God has for people. I am grateful for this experience and am encouraged that just like God was looking out for this woman, He is always looking out for me as well.
Be encouraged today and know that if you are a believer in Christ that God is always with you. He is looking out for you even when you least expect it. Pay attention and be sensitive to the Holy Spirit as He guides you to share God’s love with others who need it most!

Yes, God definitely places ya in the lives of people who need us to act like a Jesus in a precise moment. Maybe it’s many moments. Maybe it’s just one. But God provides one way or another and in ways we don’t expect. Thanks for sharing you story
